Murray Griffin (1903-1992)
  Griffin was captured during the fall of Singapore in February 1942 and spent the remainder of the war in Changi prisoner-of-war camp. This picture was painted as a result of a conversation with survivors in Changi from the Perth, sunk in the Sunda Strait, off Java, two weeks after Singapore fell.
