Griffin, Murray (1903-1992)

Griffin trained at the National Gallery of Victoria School between 1919 and 1923. Appointed an official war artist in 1941, he was taken prisoner of war by the Japanese in February 1942 with the fall of Singapore. In the Changi prisoner-of-war camp he produced numerous poignant paintings and drawings showing the life and activities of the prisoners.
