Teenaged actress and honorary hostess Shirley Temple joins Canadian Prime Minister Mackenzie King to launch the 7th Victory Loan Campaign in Ottawa in 1944. Movie stars and other celebrities, including war heroes, endorsed fundraising efforts, salvage campaigns, and morale-raising events throughout the war. American film stars, equally well known on both sides of the border, were common features of Canadian campaigns.
