- Nom de la marque / modèle No.250 Compass Protractor
- Inscription (instructions): No.250 COMPASS PROTRACTOR (Instructions on back) C-THRU RULLER COMPANY - HARTFORD, CONN.; INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE To find the COURSE TRUE NORTH: Lay the protractor so that the hole at the center of the protractor is exactly over the place designated as the point of departure, and the sides of the protractor are parallel to the meridians and parallels on the map. Now pass the string so that it makes contact with the point of destination. The direction of the COURSE is now read from the point where the sting intersects the graduations of the protractor. Two values may be read from the scale, which represent the TRUE NORTH. One represents the EASTERLY COURSE and the other degrees a WESTERLY COURSE. Select whichever is appropriate. To convert TRUE NORTH to MAGNETIC COURSE for NAVIGATIONAL purposes: Consult a variation map for the average magnetic variation to be followed for a particular itinerary. Variations of the map marked plus are to be added and those marked minus are to be subtracted from the TRUE NORTH. TO MEASURE DISTANCES: On USC&GS Sectional Maps use the 1:500,000 scale of statute miles Printed in U.S.A
