- Inscription PROVINCE OF BRITISH COLUMBIA DOMINION OF CANADA IMPORTANT NOTICE MILITARY FORCES VOTING ACT, 1916. GENERAL ELECTION OF MEMBERS to serve in the Legislative Assembly, 1916. EVERY MALE BRITISH SUBJECT (a) Serving the Naval or Military Forces of Canada or in any Corps attached thereto raised for service in the present War OR WHO HAS SERVED IN SUCH Forces in the present War and who had resided in British Columbia for six months immediately preceding the date on which he was appointed to or enlisted in such Forces and within such six month; had resided in any electoral District in the Province for a period of not less than one month; or (b) Serving in any other of his Majesty's Naval or Military Forces in the present War or who has served in such forces in the present War and who had resided in the province for six months immediately preceding the date on which he left the Province for the purposes of being appointed to or enlisting in or joining such Forces for service in the present War, and within such six months had resided in any electoral District in the Province for a period of not less than one month is entitled, under and subject to the provisions of the above Act, to vote at the above General Election notwithstanding his absence from the Province. Men entitled to vote may do so by attending personally at the POLLING STATION situate at the Office of Messrs. ATKINSON & STAINER, Solicitors RADNOR CHAMBERS, CHERITON PLACE, FOLKESTONE. The following further Polling days are now announced, namely-FROM SATURDAY, SEPT. 9, 1916 TO THURSDAY, SEPT 14 1916 (BOTH INCLUSIVE, EXCEPT SUNDAY). POLL OPEN FROM 6 P.M. TO 8 P.M. At the time of recoding his vote as above any man may also record his vote of the Referenda directed to be taken on the following questions, namely:-- (a) Are you in favour of bringing the "British Columbia Prohibition Act" into force? (b) Are you in favour of the extension of the electoral franchise to Women? THE PRESIDING OFFICER for all Military Camps, Hospitals, Rest Camps, clearing Stations, and other places in the Shorncliffe Commande or in Folkestone is J.
