Aerial View of Trenches
In this aerial view of a battlefield, both sides' trench lines and a tremendous number of shell craters are clearly visible. Although this is an unidentified image, the date of 24 March 1917 suggests that it may have been taken over Vimy Ridge in preparation for the Canadians' impending 9 April assault.
