Dominion Day
Canadian soldiers gather to celebrate Dominion Day on 1 July 1917 in a village they have recently captured. Some wear captured German war trophies. Canadians honoured the anniversary of Confederation in 1867 throughout the war, often with sporting events. In 1982, Dominion Day was renamed Canada Day.
