Soldiers bathing

Soldiers bathing, Will Ogilvi, Canadian War Museum, 19710261-4759

Following the capture of Hill 736 and Regalbuto, in Sicily, men of the 2nd Canadian Infantry Brigade bathe and wash in the Salso River. In the hot summer Italian sun, the opportunity to cool down was appreciated by the soldiers, as their relaxed poses indicate. Around them, however, the parched land points to the conditions under which they normally operated.
