Offered between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tickets are available at the Museum Box Office. $8/person ($6 with Museum admission), minimum of two people per carriage. |

EQUUSKETCH June 20 and July 31 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Grand Hall Horses have inspired artists for centuries. Try sketching a horse for yourself, and learn how the skeleton and underlying muscles affect the animal’s outward appearance. |

THE CANADIAN HORSE July 9 and August 6 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Riverview Park For generations, the Canadian Horse played an instrumental role in the lives of early settlers and the development of our country. Join Michel Allen of Elevage Fabie to meet some of these special horses and learn more about this exceptional made-in-Canada breed, which has earned a reputation for hardiness and stamina. |

WHAT A HOOF! August 1–2 10:30 a.m. to noon, 1 to 3:30 p.m. Grand Hall and Waterfall Court Step back in time and take part in a live horseshoe-making demonstration with a farrier, as you learn about the history of horseshoes and proper shoeing techniques to avoid breakage or excessive hoof wear. Then try for a “ringer” in a game of horseshoes, and create a special U-shaped craft for your own shoe! |

HORSE SYMPOSIUM October 3 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. In honour of the special exhibition The Horse, the Museum will feature a full day of all things equine, dedicated to a greater appreciation and awareness of this animal. Meet equine industry professionals as they share their passion and knowledge of this multi-faceted animal. |
